TEAM2 History

Created in 2010 by Christian Traisnel and accredited the same year, TEAM2 (Technologies de l'Environnement Appliquées aux Matières et Matériaux) is the national competitiveness cluster dedicated to the circular economy and recycling. Thanks to its expertise and its network of industrial, scientific and institutional partners, TEAM2 stimulates innovation for the resources of the future, derived from recycling.

Innovation for the circular economy

TEAM2 leads, supports and promotes the production and use of new resources produced by innovative recycling processes. TEAM2's activities are divided into five Strategic Business Areas (SBAs):

  • Strategic metals and rare earths
  • Organics
  • Minerals, Building Waste, Polluted Sites and Soils
  • French Engineering and Equipment Manufacturers for Recycling,
  • Innovative circular economy loops

Joining TEAM2 allows you to integrate an ecosystem favourable to innovation, to boost the setting up of R&D projects, to have support in the search for partners and funding in France and Europe. For its members, the cluster offers a range of services, including a permanent watch on opportunities, achievements and trends in the field of recycling and contact with a vast network of professionals, particularly within working groups and collaborative events.

Based in the Hauts-de-France region, TEAM2 is fully committed to the region's strategy of making it one of the most advanced regions in Europe in terms of energy transition and digital technologies.

After eleven years at the 11/19 base in Loos-en-Gohelle, TEAM2 is moving to "84 bis rue Paul Bert in Lens" opposite the Louvre Lens Vallée and close to the Louvre-Lens Museum. The association is leaving a site steeped in history to join another one that gives it life! This is symbolic for TEAM2, as it reflects the idea of circularity that the cluster deals with on a daily basis via the circular economy and recycling.

The Hauts-de-France Region, cradle of innovation in the recycling sector

The Hauts-de-France Region is positioned as a land of excellence with a large concentration of industrialists and partners specialising in the recycling sector. It is identified worldwide as an important cradle of innovation, both among primary transformation industrial players and those involved in recycling. With the TEAM2 competitiveness cluster at its heart, it aims to strengthen this development, which represents an essential axis of R&D (Research and Development) for the future.
